The sales coordinator will communicate with college professors to facilitate adoptions of our textbooks. Responsibilities include:

  • Organizing own pipeline within our CRM system (Sugar)
  • Responding to incoming leads
  • Monitoring emails and incoming phone calls
  • Conveying adoption decisions

This is an administrative, inside sales position focused on responding to incoming “soft leads” and maintaining relationships with existing clients. There is no cold calling.

It is expected that the sales coordinator will prospect for new business and proactively reach out by phone and email to professors who have expressed an interest in using our textbooks. The position has a sales goal and an expectation to grow the territory. It includes a base hourly salary plus a semi-annual bonus if sales goals are met.

This position may also assist customer service with emails and phone calls from student customers who purchased through our e-commerce website.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1-2 years of experience in an office, retail, or sales environment; previous sales experience strongly preferred
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills (the application process includes a written assessment)
  • Must be a highly organized self-starter

Start date: Immediate

Reports to: Director of Operations

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Location: All Cognella employees will be working remotely through Spring 2021. We plan to return to our office in the Sorrento Valley area of San Diego, California, when it is safe to do so. A dedicated workspace and access to reliable internet is required for remote employees. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
