How long is the rental period?
Rentals are for the duration of your class, usually up to four months for a quarter class and up to six months for a semester class. Year-long classes, summer sessions, and other special exceptions will have a personalized schedule for the rental period.

Can I highlight or write in my rented textbook?
Yes! Highlight, add notes to the margins, and do whatever you need to study. We will accept rentals in used condition at the end of the rental period.

What happens if I decide to keep the book?

How do I return my book?
You will be provided with a printable, pre-paid shipping label through your Cognella account to use to ship your rental back to Cognella. You will have 30 days from the end of the rental period to send the rental back to us.

I want to rent, but it isn’t listed as an option.
Not all of our textbooks are available to rent. If the option to rent is not listed, your book is not part of the Cognella print rental program. In most cases, you have the option to rent the digital textbook.
