Ordering Books for Special Events and Marketing Opportunities

If you’d like to order copies of your book for a special event or marketing opportunity, there are a few ways to do so:

If there is a campus bookstore associated with the event, they can order copies of your book directly through Cognella by contacting Cognella Customer Service at orders@cognella.com or 858-800-2675.

If there is a trade bookstore associated with the event, they can purchase copies of your book directing through our distribution partner, Ingram. The bookstore will be familiar with ordering from a book distributor, and they’ll also handle the printing and shipping of your books, as well as any returns.

If there is not a bookstore associated with the event, you can purchase copies directly from Cognella using your author discount and then handle the resale at the event. You can order copies with your author discount directly from the title page for your book in the Cognella Title Catalog at titles.cognella.com. This is also the best option if you’d like to purchase copies of your book for friends or family at a discounted price.

Instructions for Ordering Discounted Copies of Your Book via the Cognella Title Catalog

1. Visit https://titles.cognella.com. If you already have an account, sign in. If you don’t, click Create Account and follow the steps for account setup.

2. Use the search bar at the top of the catalog to search for your book either by title or your name. When you find your book, click through to its title page. Once there, click Purchase. (When the pop-up appears asking if you are a student looking for course materials, click No.)

3. From the Formats dropdown menu, select Print and then click the Add to Cart button.

4. In your Shopping Cart, adjust the quantity to specify the number of books you’d like to purchase. Be sure to click Update Cart to apply the new quantity. The order total will adjust to reflect the change. When you’re ready to proceed, click Go to Checkout.

5. On the Shipping page, fill in the required fields, select your preferred shipping method (USPS priority mail is free of charge; you are responsible for shipping costs if you select FedEx), and click Next.

6. On the Review & Payments page, before you input your payment information, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the gray text that reads “I have a Voucher.” In the box that reads “Enter voucher code,” input the code provided by your publishing/marketing team and click Apply Voucher.

When applied, your author discount will be reflected in the Order Summary on the right-hand side of the page.

7. Finish inputting your payment information. When all of the details on the page are correct, click Place Order.
