Compare and Critique

A compare and critique activity provides students with the opportunity to review, describe, and compare two YouTube videos. The videos might demonstrate two different interpretations of a single piece, juxtapose two contrasting works, or highlight two individuals or events.

Note:

  • This activity is presented as practice only; it does not report to the gradebook or preserve students’ answers within the learning management system. Students may export their results, and you may have the option of requesting a separate assignment in which students upload proof of their work.

What you need to submit:

See the Guidelines for Selecting YouTube and Vimeo Videos. You will need to submit your selections in a video log.

Example

An example of a component in the compare and critique activity that includes an open-ended question prompt: "How would you describe each of these videos? Consider what you have learned in this or other chapters of the book."
