Cognella Launches the Cognella Cares Student Scholarship Program

New scholarship program rewards students for writing academic essays about current events and issues

San Diego, CA – September 10, 2018 – Cognella, Inc., today announced the launch of the Cognella Cares Student Scholarship Program. The new program awards students with academic scholarships for writing essays on timely and relevant topics that affect higher education institutions, student life, and society at large.

For the fall 2018 submission period, Cognella is seeking student essays on the topics of campus safety, LGBTQ pride, and politics today. In 800 – 1,000 words, students are encouraged to share personal stories and experiences, changes they’d like to see in higher education or society to support a better future for students affected by these issues, and innovative ideas for change.

Three essays will be selected by a panel of judges—one essay per topic—and the student authors will each receive a $1,000 academic scholarship from Cognella.

“We couldn’t be more excited to recognize students who are willing to write about current issues and demonstrate their ability for thought leadership,” said Cognella CEO Bassim Hamadeh. “Students who are attending college right now are the voices of tomorrow, and there is so much we can learn from them. We’re thrilled to take our support of students to new heights through this scholarship program, and we look forward to reading the essays we receive.”

Cognella is accepting submissions for the Cognella Cares Student Scholarship Program through October 19, 2018. Scholarship winners will be selected and notified in November 2018, and Cognella will publish the winning essays online.
